Mrs. Jones

y name is Ashley Jones and I am so excited to be sharing this year with your child and your family. I feel that the early years of school is a shared experience for the whole family. It takes a group effort to create a positive learning experience. Therefore, I believe communication is a strong aspect in your child's schooling. Please feel free to contact me anytime you need anything.

I would like to take this time to introduce myself. I am married to my best friend who is also a school teacher. We have a beautiful six month old baby girl, Zoey Kate who completes our family.

College(s) Attended/Degrees Earned:

I grew up in Greensboro, NC and attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and completed a degree in Special Education with a concentration in Learning Disabilities. I completed my student teaching at Colfax Elementary in Colfax, NC and continued on to complete my Graduate degree in Special Education with a concentration in Learning Disabilities before establishing my full time teaching career.  I moved to Third Creek Elementary in Statesville, NC where I taught for one year in a resource setting before teaching a Self Contained Autistic Classroom for Kindergarten and First Grade for three years. I taught for three years at Forest Park Elementary teaching in the Self Contained Cross Categorical Classroom. I believe that kindergarten, first, and second grade are the most crucial years in a child's schooling. It is the foundation in which the rest of the schooling is based. Therefore, we want to make this year one that is positive, fun, but still challenging for your child.

Educational Philosophy/Vision:
I strive to create a positive learning experience for all students. I hope to reach each student in a way that will impact the rest of their lives. I want my classroom to be a safe place for students to share their ideas, problems, and dreams.
