Panther Pride is Hard to Hide

                    Welcome to Mrs. Gillespie's
            4th and 5th Grade Classroom!

My name is Angela Gillespie. I have been in education for eighteen years. This is my sixth year at Jackson Park. I have been married to my wonderful husband for twenty-six years, and we have two beautiful daughters, age 24 and 22 years old, as well as a dear son-in-law. I love singing, especially at church, and spending time with my family. I am so excited to be teaching 4th and 5th grades in a combination class and I am excited to have the opportunity to partner in learning with an awesome group of students.

Educational Background:
University of North Carolina at Charlotte-
         Undergraduate Degree -1984
Jones International University -
         Masters of Education Degree -2013

Teaching Philosophy or Views:
As a teacher, my philosophy is that in order for students to learn, first, their basic needs must be met. If a student is to be successful, I must make sure every child feels safe and loved. Only then can they begin to learn. All students have the ability to learn and show growth. It is my responsibility to challenge each child to do their best and strive to be global learners, well prepared for the 21st century.
